Grades

12~25 Mesh:
It can be used for specialized applications where excessive surface profiling is required or very high built coating systems are to be removed. It is also ideal for Tar removing. It is used to remove the thickest and most adherent coatings. Multiple recycling can be done with 10-25 mesh garnet.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Ship Repair, Tanks, Petrochemical, Non-skid Coatings, Bridges, Industrial Painting.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Ship Yards, Construction and Maintenance of Containers and Tanks, Oil and Petrochemical Industry.

20~40 and 20~60 Mesh:

It is the most cost effective and excellent abrasive of its kind. Its repeatability makes it suited for fast, efficient removal of existing coating when compared to the other traditionally used abrasive medium.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Industrial Painting, Oil and Petrochemical Industry.

30~60 Mesh:
This is an economical blasting grade, equally well-sought after for multifarious works for fast and efficient removal of existing coatings and in all types of blasting applications including, removing existing coating, rust and other contaminations and also surface preparation for pipelines, fabricated steel and structures.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Heavy Equipment Refurbishment, Denim Blast, Powder Coat Surface Prep, Industrial Painting

80 Mesh:
It is an ideal one and an inviting product for surface preparation of Aluminium and non-ferrous surfaces.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:  On sensitive materials, New Steel

120 Mesh:
Mostly used when alow surface profile finish is required. Where a minimum surface roughness is required in the surface preparation of Stainless Steel and Aluminium this gets the top requirement. It can be used on synthetic products too.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:  Powder Coat Surface Prep, General Purpose, Aircraft Parts, Sensitive Substrates, Ship Propellers, Maintenance Work, New Steel Painting

Alluvial Garnet

Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Alluvial Garnet meets ISO11126-10 standards, demonstrating our commitment to product quality and customer service. Our Alluvial Garnet is processed to the highest quality with strict in house and external Quality Control at every stage of processing, grading, packaging and transportation. This ensures a consistent high quality standard from the Mining/Processing stage right through to the end user.

Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Alluvial Garnet is:

COST EFFECTIVE
The low consumption, increased productivity and recyclability result in significant cost savings per square feet blasted.

CHLORIDE MEASUREMENT
Chloride measurement is in ppm and directly relate to the water soluble chloride content of the dry abrasive. The new ISO Standard 11126-10 stipulates that the maximum level is 0.0025% m/m (i.e. 25ppm). Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Alluvial Garnet is washed and is well under this limit and typically contain less than 20 ppm soluble chlorides.

CONDUCTIVITY
Conductivity is a measurement of all free ions in solution, including chloride ions ISO Standard 11126-10 allows for a maximum conductivity reading of 25 mS/m. Australian Garnet Corporation™ Garnet is comfortably below this limit and typically less than 15 mS/m.

DENSE
The high specific gravity (4.0 – 4.1) ensures that the particle impacting on the surface have a high energy to facilitate dirt and scale removal. The combination of the high density and physical properties make it perhaps natures best abrasive for dry or wet blasting applications.

LOW DUST LEVELS
The high density and hardness are the reason for a low breakdown rate. This ensures significantly reduced dust levels, which results in improved operator visibility.

HARDNESS
The harder the abrasive the deeper it penetrates and the faster it works. The hardness of Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Alluvial Garnet is around ‘8’ on Mohs scale. Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Alluvial Garnet is a tough and hard garnet

GRAIN SHAPE
The grain is more Sub-angular, which gives better performance during the blasting and water jet cutting operations.

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY
Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Garnet is an eco-friendly natural abrasive. Its high recyclability and non-toxicity results in better waste management and zero environmental fallout from Earth to Earth. Garnet is a natural mineral and by using garnet you return the mineral taken from the earth back to earth.

Water Filtration Garnet

Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd garnet filter sand is a hard rock garnet and is mined from an almandite garnet deposit. It is ideal for use as the water filtration grained layer in multi-media systems. Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd garnet filter sand provides uniform physical characters, chemical and microstructure characteristics. There are no free elements. All oxides are combined chemically as an iron-rich aluminosilicate, which has the formula: Fe3AlO3(SiO4)3. It is as polishing layer for removal of suspended solids down to 1µm, which combined with silicate sand and anthracite filter.

Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd garnet filter sand has certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and has widely used in a variety of filtration application including industrial waste water treatment, municipal water filtration and commercial filtration systems etc.

Water Jet Garnet

Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Garnet is a natural mineral waterjet cutting abrasive. The main component is alluvial garnet, one of the hardest minerals. We closely cooperate with the leading waterjet equipment manufacturers to develop the higher performance and more cost-effective products for our customers.

Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd Advantages in Waterjet Cutting
Our garnet is produced from the highest quality alluvial garnet.

Sharper Edges - Thank to its sharp edges our garnet cuts better and faster, producing the deepest and cleanest cuts.

Faster CuttingAustralian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd waterjet grade garnet produces harder and sharper edges than other waterjet abrasives. These characteristics enable our garnet to be faster cutting, while still maintaining excellent cut quality.

Better Edge quality - According to the cutting material and edge quality requirement, there are various special and proper waterjet grades recommended that enable a better edge quality.

Less Dusty - Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd garnet has high garnet purity and very low dust. This will not only give your machine and parts a longer life but also keep the materials you are cutting cleaner. This also helps to avoid downtime with blockages.

Choosing the Proper Mesh or Grade
Australian Garnet Corporation Pty Ltd offers various grades to match any focusing tube and orifice for any given cutting applications. Choosing the proper mesh, or grade, for the operation is very imperative. Different mesh sizes of garnet are designed to pass through different sized nozzles and choosing the wrong grade could stop a waterjet operation completely. If the garnet grade is too large or coarse, the granules can jam inside a tube and cause a blockage. Too fine an abrasive have a tendency to “clump” together inside the cutting head and again, have the potential to clog. Or it may inhibit the flow of garnet in the feed tube and not consistently enter the venture of water flow between the jewel and nozzle. If you are not sure which mesh or grade is proper, feel free to Contact Us and we would like to give you our professional suggestions.

Coarse: 60 Mesh

Medium: 80 Mesh

Fine: 120 Mesh

More fine grades: 150 mesh, 180 mesh, 200 mesh, 220 mesh

If you have special requirement, contact us. We can specially customise for you.
